Getting started
Proof lets your team shape a video through its transcript, then sends those decisions back to Adobe Premiere Pro for finishing.
Quick start
1. Create or open a Proof project.
2. Upload a video, or send a Premiere sequence through the Proof extension.
3. Share an edit link with the people who know the story.
4. Cut and rearrange the transcript, leave comments, and approve the direction.
5. Send the approved cut to the editor, who syncs it back through the Premiere extension.
Shape the story together
Edit video like a document.
Highlight transcript text to work with a passage. Remove words to cut the corresponding video, and rearrange sections to try a different structure.
Collaborate in context.
Share an edit link so clients, producers, creatives, and editors can review the same cut. Teammates can leave comments directly on transcript ranges and make meaningful story changes without learning editing software.
When the direction is ready, send the cut to the editor for syncing and finishing.
Install Proof for Premiere
Proof for Premiere requires Premiere Pro 25.6 or newer, on Mac (Apple silicon or Intel) or Windows 10 and up.
Install or update
1. Save your project and quit Premiere completely.
2. Run the installer. It replaces older Proof components for you.
3. Reopen Premiere and choose Window → UXP Plugins → Proof.
4. Click Connect Premiere and sign in to your Proof account.
Connect timeline controls · first-time setup
1. On Mac, open Premiere → Settings → Control Surface. On Windows, open Edit → Preferences → Control Surface.
2. Click Add.
3. Choose Proof Native Command under Device Class, click OK, then close Settings or Preferences.
4. Return to the Proof panel. If setup is still open, click Check connection.
If Proof Native Command is already listed, you do not need to add it again.
If something is missing
If the panel or Proof Native Command is missing, quit Premiere, run the installer again, then reopen Premiere. If Proof asks for a restart, quit and reopen Premiere before continuing.
Windows publisher notice
The Windows installer is unsigned, so Windows may show “Unknown publisher.” Open Technical details on the download page to verify the downloaded file’s SHA-256 before proceeding.
Premiere workflow
Send a sequence to Proof.
Open the sequence you want to share in Premiere, then use the Proof extension to create the collaborative web cut.
Sync the decisions back.
The editor opens the approved Proof cut from the extension and syncs it into Premiere as a new, editable sequence. The original sequence stays untouched. Clip-level effects, color correction, and clip automation are preserved.
Audio track-level automation remains at its original timeline positions and may need to be retimed when the cut changes.
Troubleshooting and support
If an upload or sync does not behave as expected, first confirm that you are signed into the correct Proof account, the intended Premiere project and source sequence are open, and the source media is online.
Retry the action from the Proof extension. If the issue continues, open proof.cc/contact-us and include your operating system, Premiere Pro version, project or cut name, and any visible error message or screenshot.
